Updated Review. Just went back last week, looks like place was bought out by someone or they simply just rebranded. Food was still very good as usual. Nice updated interior, more spacious and appealing to the customers. Authentic Mexican food.

Expression Oaxaqueña Restaurante serves some of the most authentic and flavorful Oaxacan food around! The mole was rich and perfectly balanced, and the tlayudas were absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, and the service is warm and friendly. You can really taste the love and tradition in every dish. A true gem for anyone who loves authentic Mexican cuisine!

We have been coming here to eat for years. The food has not been commercialized and still remains authentic Oaxaqueña food. Our favorites from the menu are Molcajetes with the three meats plus the shrimp, the Taco de Abuela with three meats and the Tlayuda with three meats. Warning, it’s a lot of food. The 2nd image below is the regular Molcajete. The chips an mole 4th image; are an excellent appetizer, it has a sweet taste with a minor kick. The mezcal margarita has been a game a changer, in a previous sitting the restaurant was working on their liquor license and well, it was worth the effort. Lastly the horchata is a must try, coming with pecan nuts and sherbet ice cream it leaves a refreshing tastes, don’t forget to stir the drink though. We have had rude customer service but not enough to dock them down a full star. Hope you enjoy this place.

Great food from Oaxaca. My family has been coming here for over 3 yrs! It feels like home made food. Staff is friendly and they have live music on the weekends. They bring you chips covered in none spicy salsa topped with queso fresco. I must admit they do take a little to bring the food out but its worth it. You can’t go wrong with Tlayudas which is like a big pizza on a thin tortilla topped with black beans, cabbage, quesillo (string cheese) and one option of meat: Tasajo (thin beef), Chorizo, Sesina(pork). I love their cafe de la olla (coffee with cinnamon) and got chocolate. PARKING is limited because it’s a small parking.

The service and servers were awesome. They were able to accommodate our large party of 14 on a Friday night. They have live music. They also have a bakery on site which means their desserts are great. Food portions are fairly large.
